Jason Deines asked:

When applying for a loan or other form of borrowing the application process can be extensive and require a lot of information. However, when it comes to applying for a credit card the application process is simple and easy. When determining whether or not to grant you credit, credit card issuers tend to put a lot of emphasis on a person’s credit history and whether or not they have made their payments in a timely manner. For credit card issuers to make an informed decision on whether or not to grant credit to an individual they need some basic information.

When applying for a credit card you will have to fill out a credit application whether it is online or one you received in the mail. Generally, there are ten bits of information required to get the approval process going.

1.	First and last name

2.	Physical mailing address

3.	Home phone number

4.	Work phone number

5.	Date of birth

6.	Social security number

7.	Employer name

8.	Annual household income

9.	Signature

10.	Date the application was completed

As you can see the process of filling out a credit application requires only a few personal details but combined these details give the credit card issuer the ability to find out additional information about you. Because this information is sensitive you may choose to provide the information by calling the card issuer directly via their 1-800 number or over the Internet on a secure server.

Once your application has been submitted it can take several weeks before you find out whether you have been approved for credit or not. You may need to provide additional information to complete the process. If for some reason you are not approved the card issuer is required to send you a letter stating why or you can call them directly and find out what the reason is. Remember, just because you received a credit card offer in the mail does not automatically mean you will be approved.

Sally

You can be a small business just getting started or a corporation who needs numerous cards for their employees. The process of completing a business credit card application is simple and requires general information. There are two basic areas of information on a business credit card application. These areas are the business information portion and the personal information portion. Below is a more detailed list of the required information for both sections of the credit card application.

Business Information

Business name Legal entity-corporation, non-profit, sole proprietor Business industry-professional, retail, construction Tax I.D. Annual revenue amount Business phone Years in business Business address City, state and zip code
Personal Information First, last, middle and mother’s maiden name Phone number Email address Street address Social security number Date of birth Residence information-rent or own a home Monthly payment amount Next there will be a location for selecting numerous cards for employees and the authorized users of these cards. You will also be able to select for balance transfers. A balance transfer allows the movement of an existing balance from one credit card to another. Once you have filled out the above information you will have to check an agreement box stating that your above information provided is accurate and true. You will then choose continue review the information and complete and send the finished application.

You can receive details on your application within seconds by email or in a period of days by U.S. mail. A business credit card application can be a great way to earn cash back on business purchases or to pay for items needed in between paychecks. Apply for your business credit card today and you may find that it helps to make your business an even greater success.

Jeffrey

Morgan Hamilton asked:

Their are several advantages of an online student credit card application over the traditional paper ones that we receive through the mail. Chief among them is the simple fact that if the application is on a credible web site it will contain not only the information pertaining to that offer, but there should be several other similar offers that you will be able to compare.

It really is a matter of comparison shopping to find the best deal. Another advantage of using the Internet is the wealth of information that can obtained. Simply reading the terms outlined on an online student credit card application doesn’t bring forth the entire picture. Because a student credit card is likely the first credit card that an individual will have, there are other factors to consider.

The ability to monitor your card activity through the bank or credit card issuers web site is a valuable tool that should not be underestimated. For concerned parents that want their student to have the financial resources that a credit card can offer, but may be a bit leery of giving that much financial freedom to a youngster, it is an excellent way to make sure it is being used wisely.

It also offers full statements so that you can see exactly where you stand with regards to purchases, payments, current interest rates and so on. In many cases the online statement that you have access to will be updated on a daily basis. This is important because you will know exactly what is going on with the account at any given time, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

It is recommended that you obtain an online student credit card application from a secure site such as Find-Cards-Now.com. All of the major credit card companies, including Discover Card, Citibank, Chase and Bank of America, offer credit cards for college students. But most assuredly, not all offers are the same. Please do your homework and read the fine print before deciding to apply.

You will also want to make sure that the application for the offer that you choose to apply for has the provisions of their lost card policy clearly spelled out. College campuses can be quite hectic and youngsters can at times be a bit careless. The student credit card application must offer full protection against lost cards, fraud, theft and unauthorized use.

Rosa

Robert Weber asked:

Getting a credit card with a high credit limit is not a very straightforward process. When you apply for a credit card, whether online, by phone or through the mail, the credit card company first determines if you are approved and then determines your credit limit. Unfortunately, no credit card company can provide information on what your limit will be until your application has been processed. However, there are a few steps you can take to increase your odds of getting the amount of credit your desire.

First, apply for a credit card that advertises high lines of credit. Some credit card companies only offer lines of credit up to $10,000. Others offer limits of $25,000 or more. If the credit limit you are given is a major factor in your decision, your chances of getting the credit line you desire will be increased if you apply for cards that advertise higher limits.

Once you submit your credit card application, it can take anywhere from a few business days to a few business weeks to receive your credit card and learn of your credit limit. Because of this, there are a few steps you can take to make sure you get the credit you desire in a timely fashion.

If simply getting credit is your main concern, applying for multiple credit cards may be the best option. You may not get the credit limit you want on a single credit card, but your combined limit may meet your needs. Additionally, applying for multiple cards expedite the process of getting your credit card in hand.

Another benefit of applying for multiple credit cards is the option of choice. You may receive drastically different credit limits, interest rates, and 0% introductory offers from different issuers. If you apply for multiple credit cards, you can pick the card or card you want to use armed with the specific information you need to save you the most money on interest while providing you with the credit limit you desire.

Erica

I Recieved it in the mail with a 2K limit. Desprate for rent, I had applied for 3 more credit cards all supplied from chase and had recieved them all with another 3K limit, 5K limit and 2800 limit. And also regretfully used it all.
In the same month I applied for Target (never used but got), Sears (used 250) Imagine(used 300) Credit one(used 300), home depot (used 500) another Imagine(Used 300). I regretfully used them all.

caramelcoo88 asked:

I am 18-years-old and I have a credit card with Capital One credit card, which I have not made the first payment on, so I don’t know if I have credit yet. By the way. Capital One sent me this credit card offer through the mail with a reservation number, so I was instantly approved. But, I have applied for a Amazon Credit Card, a CitiBank, a PayPal Plus, and each one keeps telling me they can not process my application right now, and they will send me their decision in a few days to 30 days. What does that mean? Could it be that they don’t have any information on me, as far as my credit history is concerned, because I just got a Capital One credit card. I hope this means that, and not that I’m not approved. Please, tell me what this usually means.
Thanks in Advance.

Sue
