James J. Robinson asked:

Getting answers to your credit card application questions is an important part of the process of obtaining a line of credit that meets your needs, and does not have to cost you an arm and a leg! By finding out the details in advance, you are in a better position to make the best choice for your needs. It may help if you think of yourself as a credit card detective as you go through the application process.

Question: Is there an annual fee?

One of the credit card application questions you need to get answered is whether the card you are considering requires that you pay an annual fee. You will need to pay this amount whether you are using the account or not. Not all consumers feel that paying a fee to keep an account open is a good deal.

Question: What is the APR?

The APR, or Annual Percentage Rate, is the rate of interest that you are charged for purchases and cash advances made against your card. Some cards will offer a low APR (some are even available at zero percent) for the first few months. After the promotional period has passed, the credit card account reverts to the company’s “normal” interest rate, which may be several percentage points higher than what the customer has been paying.

Question: Will they ask about my bank accounts?

Since the lender is taking a risk that you will be able to pay back and credit you use, yes, you should expect to give evidence of things like how much money you make, how much cash you have access to, and how much debt you carry.

Question: Will they ask about my FICO score?

Your FICO or credit score is important, but the lender won’t ask you to provide this info. They can obtain it directly from on of the three credit rating services.

Doris

Lindsey Rowley asked:

In spite of the large numbers of folks using bank cards world-wide, you can even find more that are rejected whenever they send in a new credit card application. There is certainly ordinarily a contributing factor that explain why this request is denied. It is vital for you to work with repairing your credit-worthiness to enable you to some day be given a card from a respected provider.

Every time you apply for a credit card, your credit ranking is reduced whether you are accepted or not. Possessing a couple of rejections reflecting regarding your credit score will mean a reduced credit score. Therefore, it is crucial to not frequently apply for bank cards if you discover yourself getting turned down every time. You need to wait around 3-6 months in between applications, also consider the reasons regarding the reason you may be rejected.

Most banks need you to be eighteen years old and also have a dependable income source. It doesn’t mean the credit card application is going to be straight away ok’ed the moment you accept a job. You need to stay in your current employment status for around half a year prior to trying for a charge card. This kind of proof of job security help to make it more likely for someone to give you the line of credit.

Having a strong credit history will influence whether you will be provided with a credit card. Financial institutions are getting to be much more unwilling to conduct business with a person with a poor credit history. Tardy payments, overlooked payments, along with letting bills go to collections will certainly all have a very damaging impact on your credit rating.

Things you can do to raise the fico score are paying the bills when they’re due, getting a modest loan and paying it off on time, as well as keeping a check of your fico score to look for any sort of fraudulent information or identity theft.

When filling in the credit card application, be sure you give as much info relating to yourself that you can. In addition, ensure that this info is very sound. Companies can discover the validity of the facts you supply them. Nearly all will certainly automatically refuse an application that contains any fictitious information. Lying on the application will do zero to help you better your credit ranking.

Having a credit card application ok’ed shouldn’t be an arduous task. Avoid going overboard when getting a bank card. Only put in a single credit request every three to six months to stop hurting your current credit ratings. Make sure that you have a steady job and offer substantiation that you can pay back your bill on time in advance of applying for a personal credit line.

Stacey

Peter Burke asked:

Study reveals that nearly 9 million people in America have problems of bad credit. This forms about 3% of the population, (over 6% of the adult population!) of the United States. So the knowing the credit history of a person is gaining ground and necessity for creditors.

The fact remains if your FICO rate is below 620, people won’t lend you any credit. This FICO score being low has various reasons like bankruptcy, excessive debts, inability of rendering payment of bills at proper time, among others.

However, there is a ray of hope! Your credit score can be improved. This can be done by maintaining your potential for credit, however small it may be and making it clear to creditors that you’re capable of paying your debts in time, without having to having to resort to more credit. To help you improve your credit there 5 basic steps below.

1. Get yourself a copy of the your credit report. Then utilize the various advantages of the credit report of the government (which is free) from every Bureau of the National Consumer Credit – Equifax and Trans-Union. This will get you to the start of the process. It will give you a clear picture of your present rating.

2. File an application for a credit line, which may be a secured or unsecured credit card.

3. On getting the card, do not make blind purchases. Restrict the purchases to 70 percent of limit imposed on the credit card. i.e. if the limit of the credit card is $500, use it to the extent of $350 only.

4. Then, make sure you pay pay bills at the proper time, as this alone takes up 35% of the FICO score of yours. So this is a good base for creditors to judge your creditworthiness.

5. So what about Prepaid cards?

You can also use a credit card that is prepaid. This often a solution that many borrowers are unaware of. This, is perhaps the simplest and most effective method for longer term improvement if you have debt discipline problems. This effectively means you will mean using a credit card to rebuild credit – a ‘win-win’ situation. Use a prepaid credit card that is reported to a Credit Bureau. Only a few of the credit cards regularly report to a credit bureau. So select one that does so, on a regular basis.

One thing to note about prepaid cards is that you must Keep a track of fees. The prepaid card companies often levy fees. Make a prior comparison with many companies in order to secure a credit card where the lowest fee is charged. Bear in mind that some fees need to be paid for credit cards that get reported to the credit bureau, which can be up to an annual fee of$100 – But remember the purpose of this card is to repair credit!

Check the benefits

Some prepaid cards are available with certain benefits, but not all of them. Some give you points which can be used for free call time and other activities.

Preventing abuse of the credit card

Prepaid cards have the distinct benefit that you can never cross the limit, so it enables you to avoid interest and penalties. The implication is that if a report to the credit bureau is made, it is literally impossible to get a FICO score which is lower than your current score with such a card. So you can get credit cards to rebuild credit. It only gets better!

Randall

Ed Vegliante asked:

Do you want more credit at your fingertips? Applying for a credit card is now faster and easier than ever. With instant approval credit cards, you can find out whether you have been approved online in less than a minute. Here’s what you need to know about instant approval credit cards.

The Instant Approval Process

The process to get an instant approval credit card begins with an online application. You’ll need to fill in basic financial information. For instant approval cards, when you submit the application, your credit report is quickly reviewed. Usually, the approval is based on your FICO score. FICO, which stands for Fair Isaac & Company, gives you a credit score between 300 and 850. If you have good or excellent credit, it is very likely that you will be approved.

You will receive a confirmation notice of your approval. The actual credit card will then be sent to you in the mail. You can plan on its arrival one to two weeks after the card has been approved. Once you have followed the steps to activate the card, you are free to begin using it.

Compare the Benefits

While the resounding feature of instant approval credit cards is their quick online response, many include other benefits. Some offer a 0% introductory rate on purchases and balance transfers. Others come with a plan to receive cash back or rewards. If you frequently travel, look for a card that will award you with free air miles. If you have a long daily commute, check into a card with gas rebates. By evaluating your lifestyle, you can find an instant approval credit card that will have lasting benefits.

Understand the Fine Print

In addition to the card’s features, it is important to understand the details of your credit card. If the card comes with a low introductory interest rate, find out what the regular APR is. This will tell you what you can expect to pay on interest after the introductory period is over. Also look to see if the card has an annual fee or additional finance charges. Sometimes there are fees involved with balance transfers, late payments, or reward programs. Be sure to read through the fine print. This way, you will know what to expect after the credit card has been instantly approved online.

Check for Security

In many ways, applying online can be more secure than sending in a credit card application through the mail. Your information is sent directly to the needed source, and you do not have other people’s hands handling your mail. Most credit card companies use the latest, most secure data encryption available. To be safe, check the website before you apply online. Look for indications of security, such as a small lock on the page. If you have any questions, check further into the site before applying.

Life often feels like driving in the fast lane – we need things done quickly. Instant approval credit cards offer you the convenience you need through a process that is easy to follow. And with the Internet, you have plenty of options right before you. You can look at a variety of cards as you search for the one that best fits your needs. Apply today and enjoy the excitement of being instantly approved.

Copyright Ed Vegliante.
Diana asked:

I am currently 25 years old with one major credit card that I have held for nearly 10 years. I carry a few store credit cards as well. I pay all of my credit card bills on time, in full, never carrying any outstanding balances on any cards. All car payments paid on time, no student loans left…I recently checked my credit score for mortgage purposes and it was mid 600s. I was also denied a major credit card application based on my current score. What can I do to improve my FICO score??

In reply to comments – score pulled by bank for mortgage purposes, showed scores from all 3 major agencies. Read through the credit report fully, no red flags. I can’t figure out what pushed it down unless perhaps I just haven’t built it up enough?
Also, no changes in my credit limit.

Herbert
